Video Tutorial - Japanese Gyaru Makeup!

Here is my latest makeup video tutorial, this time of the ever-popular Japanese Gyaru look! The young ladies that follow this popular fashion trend are well known for their amazing makeup, with carefully applied eyeliner, gorgeous false lashes and awe-inspiring contouring skills. I am so amazed by how much time and effort these girls spend to look so gorgeous every day!

I used mostly browns and beige colors for this look because it is more lashes-focused. The eyeshadow is used to make your eyes look deeper, and I think too much color would overwhelm the face.

Anyway on with the video!

I had to extensively edit my video this time to get it under 10 minutes while being understandable, as there was over 10 gigs of video for me to go through! The music is from a J-Trance album, which is a popular music style among Gyarus.

Here's a closeup of my face showing the whole makeup without the wig:

And here is a GIF showing the progress of each step. Pay attention to how my lashes seems to "grow" from my eyes! XD

Finally, here is a pic of the false eyelashes I used, they are cut-and-pasted together from 5 pairs (2 top, 3 bottom)!

My review for the circle lenses I wore in this look can be found here: http://makeup-piggy.blogspot.com/2010/02/circle-lens-review-eos-g202-or-candy.html

To end this post, have a few more camwhoring pics for good measure:

200+ followers - THANK YOU!!! (+FOTD for Saturday)

I just want to say thank you to all of you guys for showing your interest and support to my blog by following it. I will try my best to bring you more cool posts in the future!

To make this post a bit more useful, here is my FOTD for Saturday:
This is a toned-down version of my 40's pin-up tutorial look. I dropped the foundation and false eyelashes, and used a lipgloss instead of lipstick.

EDIT: Huh, whaddayano, this is also my 80th entry :)

Circle Lens Review - EOS G202 or Candy Magic/Barbie King Size Brown

Here is my review for EOS G202, which shares the same design as Candy Magic/Barbie King Size lens in Brown. I call these my "Kumiko" lenses, since they are the type frequently worn by the super-kawaii Popteen model, Funayama Kumiko:

Here is the lens (the side facing the eyeball) in its case. When I first got the lens, I was a bit shocked at how strong the black ring and spikes are. I do love dramatic lenses though, so I am not afraid to try them on. :D

Once I try them on, I immediately fell in love with how ridiculously dolly my eyes look. The strong pattern shows up well in all light, giving my eyes an "Anime girl" look. The extra-thick black ring is less scary-looking when the lenses are worn, and give excellent definition and enlargement.

One small nitpick I have of these lenses is that the color is more greyish than I expected when worn; but it might just be because my eyes are almost black. Here are few close-ups:

These lenses are one of the most enlarging that I have worn, thanks to the very prominent black ring. I make the "O_o" face again when I only take one lens off:

I put on my Max Pure Brown lenses to make some side-by-side comparison. Max Pure Brown gives a more natural look as the King Size Brown, but the size are roughly the same.

The King Size series has a pattern very similar to those of Geo Angels. I only have the Angels in green, but here are some comparison anyway. The spikes in the King Size are bigger but less in number, and the outer black ring is much thicker than that in the Angels.

Finally, here is some comparison with my other pair of "brown" lens, Dolly Brown. Obviously there is no way the King Size can be anywhere near as brightly colored as the Dolly, but they are bigger in size and more suited for non-cosplay wear.

Here is one more pic of all the lenses I wore in this review in their cases:

FINAL VERDICT:
Design: 9/10 - One point deducted for being slightly off from expectation color-wise, otherwise these are perfect :D
Enlargement: 10/10 - I have not tried any of the crazy 14.7mm lenses, cus I think these 14.5mm lenses are big enough already!
Comfort: 9/10 - No discomfort at all, but I can still feel them.
TOTAL: 9.5/10 - Pretty close to being perfect!

Circle Lens Review - EOS G205/Dueba Messish Kira Kira Sherbet Violet

Here is my review for the EOS G205 circle lenses, which is also known as, or at least look extremely similar to, Dueba Messish Kira Kira Sherbet (what a tongue-twister!). I bought these in Violet to replace my G&G BT02 Violet, which are one of my favorite pair of lenses. Unfortunately I have to say that I don't really like them. :\

These lenses has a solid black ring with spikes of black pointing inward, similar to the BT02, but the spikes are more numerous and thicker. Therefore, the violet color is not very obvious in most lights.

Apart from being darker than expected, the spike pattern is also slightly creeping me out for some reason. It looks a bit too organic for my taste (reminds me of sea anemone), if that makes sense.

As for enlarging effect, these are pretty decent since they are so dark. I took off one of the lenses to have some comparison pics taken:

I then put in one of my BT02 Violet lenses; they are over a year old already so I am thinking of tossing them. After taking these pics, however, I guess I have to hold onto them for a bit.

See how much more brilliant the BT02 are? The G205 are bigger, but way too dark to be a good replacement for my BT02. I am kind of thinking of throwing them out since I don't think I will be wearing them. I do dislike them that much. :\

Here are a bunch of uber close-ups so you can see the lenses' pattern clearly.

FINAL VERDICT:
Design: 6/10 - Color is too dark, and the spike design makes me uncomfortable. One of my lenses has a slight misprint where the edge is fading too (see the pic directly above).
Enlargement: 8/10 - Noticeably bigger than my BT02.
Comfort: 8/10 - EOS lenses are always comfortable for me.
TOTAL: 7/10 - If you like the design and want a subtle pop of color, theses are the lenses for you. However, I am all for dramatic-looking lenses, so these are not really that interesting to me.
