FOTD - Hat Modelling

Sorry for the lack of update, I have been too busy to write anything that is worth posting :( Anyway, last Saturday I modeled some very cute hats from Athena's Wink, my friend's company. I wore a blonde wig and Gyaru makeup (with different lashes from the last time I did a similar style), and I think I look pretty good in the pics. Check them out!

Here is a closeup without the wig:

Circle Lens Review - GEO Grang Grang Brown

Hi everyone, long time no post! I definitely have not abandoned this blog, life has just been busy lately. Meanwhile, here's my long-overdue review of GEO Grang Grang Brown (what a fun name to say), sponsored by MukuCHU. :)

Grang Grang Brown is a lens with a dark brown outer ring and a lighter, almost honey-brown inner main color with dark brown spikes throughout. I think they make my dark brown eyes really "pop" without looking too unnatural, and girls with lighter hair color would look awesome with these lenses IMO.

Enlargement-wise, the Grang Grang are pretty decent in size, but since the outer ring is a softer dark brown, they do not look freaky at all.

Next I will be comparing the Grang Grang with my two favourite "Natural" lenses. First up are the Neo Dali Extra Brown, which I have been wearing a lot. The Grang Grang are definitely lighter and makes my eyes look almost glowing, but the Dali give better definition to my eyes.

Compared to the popular EOS Max Pure brown, the Grang Grang are more golden in tone while the Max Pure are slightly grayish. Enlargement is pretty equal though.

Here are all the lenses worn in this review. Clockwise from the top: Grang Grang brown right side up, Dali Extra brown, Grang Grang brown upside down, Max Pure Brown.

FINAL VERDICT:
Design: 9/10 - I love the honey-brown color and the dark brown outer ring and spikes
Enlargement: 8/10 - Decent enlargement, but looks quite natural even without makeup
Comfort: 8/10 - Just the usual thickness of GEO lenses, no discomfort so far
TOTAL: 8.5/10 - As I said before, these would be great for girls with lighter hair colors who want a more natural lens :)

Thank you MukuCHU for the sponsorship!

FOTD - Makeup for my original Harley Quinn cosplay :)

Hi everyone, I am back from my first ever Dragon*Con! I had lots of fun and met many awesome people, but best of all I got to debut FIVE costumes. My favourite one is my Marie Antoinette-inspired Harley Quinn ballgown for my friend's Batman masquerade group. I will have photos of my full costumes from my photographer friends later, but here are two phone pics of my makeup after being in the costume (which includes a fully-boned overbust corset, wide-ass pannier, underskirt and dupioni silk overskirt) for almost 3 hours. I was wearing two pairs of false lashes, and one of them has red tinsel in it. I think the makeup turned out pretty awesome even though it took almost 2 hours to do. :)

Quick FOTD post - Red brows!

Sorry for the lack of post, I have been busy and feeling uninspired lately. I was on a 3-week vacation to Hong Kong in July, and I am also in the process of preparing for Dragon*con, a 4-day geek convention in Atlanta, so expect more makeup post after that :)
Anyway, here is some bad photos of my makeup last Sunday when I went drinking with some friends in NYC. This is the first time I wore this dark red wig out in public, and I decided to do strong red eyebrows to match it. I was going for a more androgynous look also, as the theme of the bar was "Dandy attire". Since the brows are the focus of my look, I used a glittery charcoal eyeshadow all over my eyelids with black pencil eyeliner and mascara, light contouring below my cheekbones and sides of nose, and a nude lipstick.
I should have another circle lens review up soon, so stay tuned!

Circle Lens Review - LuxuryBabe 02 pink

Today I am reviewing the LuxuryBabe 02 pink lenses, sponsored by apple of your eyes. These are 3-colored lenses with a very simple yet striking design, and the color is very unique as well.

A while ago I reviewed the Beaucon Jewel pink lenses, which have a similar design as this pair but with only two colors instead of three. The inner "burst" of orange for these pink lenses give them more character and prevents them from looking like dead fish's eyes.

Enlargement-wise, these are moderate in power, but the strong contrast between the solid black ring and the light pink main color is stunning from all distances.

I have quite a few pairs of pink lenses but they all have different shades of pink. For example, the Big DM23 pink lenses is much darker compared to the LuxuryBabe 02, They are also larger in diameter.

The Super Glamour Pink lenses are comparable in size to the LuxuryBabe 02, but the pink is much warmer in the LuxuryBabe.

Here are all the lenses worn in this review. Clockwise from the top: LuxuryBabe 02 pink right side up, Big DM23 pink, LuxuryBabe 02 pink upside down, Super Glamour pink.

FINAL VERDICT:
Design: 9/10 - Some people might find them a bit too freaky to wear, but I think they look awesome
Enlargement: 8/10 - You can never go wrong with a solid black outer ring
Comfort: 8/10 - They slide a wee bit when worn, but it's probably my eyes being weird
TOTAL: 8.5/10 - These are very cool lenses, and the color is unique as well!

Thank you apple of your eyes for the lenses!

Circle Lenses Review - EOS New Adult Green

Today I am going to review the EOS New Adult Green circle lenses, sponsored by MukuCHU. If you have been following the circle lenses trend you probably have heard of the Adult lenses before; I have reviewed the old Adult Green lenses here, and the new Adult lenses are very different in design from the old ones.

The feature I like the most about the New Adult lenses is the intensity of the color. I have a collection of green lenses but I think these are among the most intense. For some reason green lenses tend to be darker; maybe it is to make them more wearable and less freaky? :p

These two-color lenses have a thin, solid outer black ring with tiny black spikes going into the middle, and an gradient of the main color that fades into the pupil.

The New Adult lenses have decent enlarging effect. At certain angles I notice the "halo" where the lenses move.

The Dreamy.i Green used to be my go-to lens for creepy green eyes, as the color is strong and the enlargement is good. The New Adult have a wider color ring and the color is stronger as well, but the Dreamy.i is more yellow-toned.

Compared to the Misty Green, which has three colors in the design, the New Adult has a simplier design but more vibrant color again.

Here are all the lenses used in the review. Clockwise from the top: New Adult green right side up, Dreamy.i Green, New Adult green upside down, Misty Green.

FINAL VERDICT:
Design: 9/10 - Strong color but would be nice if there is more different tones
Enlargement: 8/10 - Decent enlargement
Comfort: 9/10 - Same comfort level as my other EOS lenses
TOTAL: 8.5/10 - Love the vibrant color, would be great for cosplay

Thank you MukuCHU for the lenses!
